Animal Care and Control

Animal Care and Control is San Francisco’s most hardcore pound. They often receive lizards, rattlesnakes, flying squirrels, and not long ago they brought in an alligator found in Lake Merced. Today I received a tour from Rebecca Katz, who is not only the director of the ACC, but she can charm snakes and is rumored to have dated Crocodile Dundee in her early teens.

Did Rebecca Katz show you where those cute rabbits will be euthanized in three days?

Great video- very cute! A light-hearted look at a really serious problem. Over 8 million cats and dogs are euthanized every year for lack of homes and the numbers of smalls and exotics may be as high (just not as well counted). PLEASE- until there are homes for all of them, don’t buy, don’t breed, ADOPT! And volunteer! I’m an SFACC volunteer and it is WONDERFUL!

Bruntal, we haven’t euthanized a healthy, adoptable rabbit in 7 years – mostly thanks to Save A bunny rescue. Feel free to donate to them or to friends of acc if you want to help.
